August 2009, and Dani is due to leave England for Japan in a couple of weeks. He and Alex get together in the studio and dust off some synths. They've been wanting to do this forever, but the timing's never been quite right; the world just wasn't ready for what they had to give it. Now, though, it's time. Everything has fallen into place. The time has come for the dramatic sequel to "so this is texas".

The story picks up where the last one left off. The aliens, who had come to Earth as part of a cosmic wildlife management scheme, are surprised to discover the human race already wiped out and the world ravaged. Disappointed at not having made it in time to save the Earth, they leave – not realising that Kid Viddy, the last living human, has stowed away aboard their spacecraft!
